Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) Recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment and reuse of these materials can mitigate environmental impacts and provide economic gains. Such waste contain both hazardous and dangerous substances (Hg, Cd, PAHs …) for environment, and precious metals and other valuable materials which can be recovered after appropriate treatment. After the size reduction phase for the release of metals from the solid support (typically plastic and glass), the separation tests show that some particles are hydrophobic and can be separated in wet conditions by shaking table. To obtain an efficient separation, it is very important to characterize and quantify precious metals and other chemical elements that are present in the computer printed circuit boards according to the particle size. From these results, appropriated treatment method can be implemented.
