Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) Our research project aims to investigate the cognitive processes involved in the perception-production of nonnative speech sounds. While factors influencing the processing of nonnative sounds have been identified, the cognitive processes are not well understood. Therefore, we intend to design experimental paradigms in which these well-known factors are manipulated in order to uncover the role of memory and attention mechanisms in the development of new processing modes. A better understanding of the cognitive functioning of perception-production of speech sounds might be used to devise procedures promoting an adapted processing of sounds.
