Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) The climate crisis calls for reform in all sectors of human activity to reduce our impact on the environment. The construction sector weighs heavily in terms of energy and waste and is in the midst of a major transformation. Architectural training must respond to the mutation of knowledge related to the ecological transition and it seems necessary to propose experimental knowledge as a complement to constituted knowledge. For the acquisition of knowledge in the process of development, learning by doing is adapted to combine experimentation and reflexivity. We propose a feedback on the project L'occaux 21 (UMons) in which a series of five construction workshops was organized for the temporary occupation of an industrial wasteland in La Louvière, Belgium. We will show how these in situ workshops offer an intermediary framework between constituted knowledge and experimental knowledge and a more direct appropriation for the students of the cultural, social and technical dimensions of the role of the architectural designer.
