Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) The cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.), is largely used in the chocolate industry, and most known for this specific use. However, the residues, such as the bark, are not used in those processes, being usually, discarded. Having in mind that the synthetic inhibitors, currently used to prevent corrosion are aggressive to the environment, natural inhibitors, might be a valid alternative and an innovative possible solution to this problem, due to its low cost, sustainability and its eco-friendly profile, which would aggregate even more value to the productive chain. In this sense, knowing that silanes are efficient coupling agent and have resistance to water and other agents, this study was carried out to modify those films with the cocoa bark powder, aiming to improve the properties of the silane film on the galvanized steel surface.
