Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) The following report collects the main results concerning the test campaign carried out in 2014. The team is actually working on the combustion of low calorific, alternative fuels in a particular regime known as MILD or diluted combustion, or Flameless Oxidation too. This is an efficient technology applied to industrial furnaces to have high efficiency, low NOx and CO emission and energy saving by air preheating. After a brief presentation of the main aspects concerning the diluted combustion and the lab facility, the report focuses on the study and the analysis of the performed tests which has been run in diluted combustion regime using gases from biomass gasification and synthetic gases. The main investigated issue has been the change in momentum rate of the fuel jets by changing the diameter of the fuel injectors. Numerical simulation has been run too in order to be compared with experimental results. The main objectives have been: the investigation of the precision of the CFD, its behavior compared to the experimental results and the capability to reproduce correct emissions.
