Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) The idea of the talk would be to make a quick (and therefore non exhaustive) review of the main conceptions about the notion of space through history of science. I would specially focus on the struggle between absolute and relative visions of space. More precisely, the idea would be to review succinctly how the concept of space was "physically" thought (what where the "presupposed") by Newton, Leibniz, Kant, Einstein, ... in their time and what were the motivations to change from one point of view to another. My point of view would be the one of a physicist trying to think as a (highly amateur !) philosopher.
