Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) Rhodospirillum rubrum belongs to the purple non-sulfur bacteria group well-known for its huge metabolic versatility. Preliminary studies conducted at the laboratory of Proteomic and Microbiology showed the link between cultivation conditions and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) production and its potential relation with the intracellular redox balance. The determination of ratio between reduced and oxidised form of different cofactors reveals surprising differences depending on the cultivation conditions. These modifications are accompanied with a tremendous increase in the PHA production. The understanding of PHA accumulation in Rs. rubrum could optimise volatile fatty acids use derived from wastewater treatments for biopolymers production.
