Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) Since the 19th Century, lots of strength criteria have been developed in order to model the materials’ intrinsic response to loads and to identify the failure conditions at different stress states. Among these theories, the Mohr-Coulomb, Drucker- Prager, Griffith-Murrel and Lade criteria are probably the most used in Rock Mechanics [1]. A particularly convenient method for representing failure criteria is to use the deviatoric plane (also called )-plane) in which the effects of the three principal stresses can be taken into account. In this paper, we describe how to model those classical failure criteria in the deviatoric plane from a set of experimental data expressed in terms of principal stresses. As an application, the developed methodologies are applied to the Soignies limestone.
