Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) Our communication will present the principles of the Explicitation Interview (Vermersch, 1994; 2012) with some clinical research applications. This qualitative technique is used to guide a subject into a retrospective introspection. We will propose to expose each methodological steps of data collection devised to explore lived experience in a very fine-grained description of a given past experience. Firstly, we will show accurately how the Explicitation Interview creates distinctive conditions to access to pre-reflective knowledge. This knowledge results from a moment of action experienced by the subject of which he/she has no a reflective consciousness when he/she is conducting his/her action. The purpose is also to develop the theoretical foundations that explain why this “fisrt-person epistemology” is effective and allows exploring cognitive, sensory and affective dimensions into a specific action. Secondly, we will provide some research applications in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy. We will expose the data analysis model developed in regards of a doctoral research (Denis, 2016; s.d.) and will show how this method allows us highlighting the clinical reasoning of stakeholders and thereby gives them access to a high level of reflexivity.
