Abstract(s) :

(Anglais) This paper studies the key elements that connect rural organizations to microfinance investment vehicles (MIVs) knowing that rural sector is one of the most financially excluded. It analyzes a specific MIV with a main concern on rural funding. It focuses on two particular aspects, namely the explanation of its funding mechanism and the analysis of cooperatives’ features that may influence the credit conditions. Using a database of 406 observations, we first run a probit regression that shows that social score has an influence on the disbursement decision. Then, we also run OLS and Panel regressions and our results demonstrate that financial aspects (amount of the buyers’ contracts and ROA) have an influence on the credit features (amount and interest rate) granted to the rural cooperatives.
